Sarah Rayner

Endorsement from Sarah Rayner

24 November 2014

Sarah RaynerBestselling author Sarah Rayner, whose work includes novelsĀ One Moment, One Morning and Another Night, Another Day plus the non-fiction guide Making Friends with Anxiety, tells us why she thinks the Creative Future Literary Awards are so important:

‘In the UK we publish many more books per head of the population than any other country in the world, which means it can be very hard for any struggling writer to get noticed. For people with mental health issues, disabilities and in difficult health or social circumstances itā€™s often even harder, which is why The Creative Future Literary Awards are so vital. Because winners receive a mix of cash and professional development, the awards act as both a brilliant incentive to get writing and an opportunity to nurture and showcase marginalised talent. I know from experience just how therapeutic writing can be when experiencing mental illness, which is why itā€™s a great honour for me personally to be asked to endorse the awards, and Iā€™m delighted to so. I look forward to the 2015 Literary Awards reaching a wider audience than ever.’
