We’re very excited to announce that celebrated author Maggie Gee will join us at the Creative Future Literary Awards Showcase alongside host Lemn Sissay.
Maggie is the author of a number of books including the The White Family (shortlisted for the Orange Prize fiction) and her memoir My Animal Life. She is a Fellow and Vice-President of the Royal Society of Literature as well as being a Visiting Professor of Creative Writing at Sheffield Hallam University. In 2012 she was awarded an OBE for services to literature. When asked to describe why she thought a programme like the Creative Future Literary Awards was important, Maggie had this to say:
‘Creativity belongs to everyone. Creativity helps people survive hard times. Creativity can’t be taken from us, but given encouragement, it grows. That’s why I’m supporting Creative Future Literary Awards.’
