Announcing our 2015 competition theme!

12 December 2014

alice in wonderland photoMany thanks to all of you who suggested possible themes for our 2015 Creative Future Literary Awards. We’re really pleased to announce the theme for next year’s competition – ‘Impossible Things’. This theme is inspired by a quote from Lewis Carroll, in honour of the fact that 2015 is the 150th anniversary of the publication of ‘Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.’ Some of you may already know this, but there’s a strong link between this book and Brighton itself, with a tunnel to the beach from Sussex Square having inspired the book’s famous opening rabbit-hole sequence.

We hope that you’ll find the theme ‘Impossible Things’ suitably inspiring. We’re looking for a wide range of entries, spanning both poetry and prose. Whether it’s flights of fantasy or hard-boiled realism, the most important thing we’re looking for is artistic quality. Writing about marginalisation is not necessary but is not excluded, the main point is to create a well-crafted piece that stays with the reader long after they have finished reading.
