Navigating the Art World

Through a mixture of presentation and exercises, this one-day seminar de-mystifies the art world and provides concrete ideas for how you might enable your work to get under the radar of people most pertinent to your practice. For emerging artists through to more established artists looking to refresh their knowledge, it looks at:

  • The ecology of the art world from the artist-led space to international art fairs via public institutions and commercial spaces
  • The roles of curator, gallerist and commissioner as well as other key players in the art world
  • The strategies and tools you can use to promote your practice and approach galleries and curators
  • Establishing and making best use of your networks
  • Identifying local and national exhibiting opportunities
  • The background to setting up your own exhibitions
