Writing Poetry to Improve Wellbeing
Engaging in creative activity can lighten your mood, help express blocked feelings, and enable you to access a state of ‘creative flow’ which calms the mind and gives you time out from difficult thoughts and feelings. This course enables you to experiment with poetry in a safe, supportive environment and, if you wish, share your writing work with others. The course will include a series of fun exercises exploring different poetic forms and involve discussion and reflection on a variety of poems.
Students will: « Experiment with different poetic forms (haiku, list poems etc.) « Learn to discuss and reflect on others’ poetry « Learn and practise different poetic methods for expressing oneself.
