DESCRIPTION:About the course\nAs part of this year’s Writers In Residence programme\, join Sallyanne Rock for a 2-part creative writing workshop inspired by watching glassmakers at work and spending time with the stunning exhibitions. \nDon’t worry if you can only make one part of this workshop – each session is self-contained so you won’t feel like you’re missing anything. \nAbout the tutor\nSallyanne Rock is a queer\, neurodivergent poet and freelance writer from the Black Country. She writes about domestic abuse\, queer identity and religious trauma. Her poetry has been published widely in various journals and anthologies\, and she has appeared at spoken word events across the West Midlands. \nShe works as a mentor\, workshop facilitator and poet for hire\, and has worked alongside organisations such as Writing West Midlands\, Verve Poetry Festival and Creative Future. In 2019 she was awarded the gold prize for poetry in the Creative Future Writers’ Awards. Sallyanne’s debut pamphlet\, Salt & Metal\, is published with Fawn Press. \nWho is it for?\nSuitable for anyone 16+ with an interest in creative writing\, no previous experience required. \nDates & Time\nSaturdays: 17 and 31 May \n11.30 am – 1.30 pm \nAbout the venue\n \nThe sessions will take place in the meeting room at The Glass Museum \n\nThe closest rail stations are Stourbridge Junction Stourbridge Town and Wolverhampton.\nBus routes 16 and 17 depart Stourbridge Interchange every 20 minutes to Brook Street (7 stops\, approx. 10 mins.)\nParking: There is a car park outside the museum.
