Often explored in film – comedy double acts and buddy movies, and these are usually comedies:

  • Bromance: Laurel and Hardy; Abbott and Costello; Brat Pack Films; Starsky and Hutch; Stand By Me
  • Womance: Fried Green Tomatoes; Thelma and Louise; Bridesmaids; Cagney and Lacey
  • Both: Friends
  • Lots of High School Movies/School Movies/Coming Of Age dramas

Task 1: Brainstorm: friendship – what’s so wonderful? When do friendships start? What makes them last? What makes a good friend?

Write, either:

a) A poem or a story about an hilarious moment you spent with a friend. What happened?

b) Your best friend at school. . .

c) A friendship changes forever. . .

d) A time you fell out with a friend, and then made it up
