Clare has been a prolific artist since graduating in Fine Art Painting in 1998, from the University of Brighton.https://www.facebook.com/claregravenell/?fref=ts  Nature in all its forms is a constant inspiration for her work. She is interested in the aesthetics, beauty and awesome power over the senses that nature has. Her palette is bold and daring and she predominately works from real life to capture a sense of aliveness. She creates in a instinctive way by painting directly onto the canvas, without sketching, which gives each piece vitality and dynamic energy through her process. She endeavours to capture the spirit and emotion of the subject through painting. Her subjects include landscapes, flowers, still life, portraits and more recently animals. Clare believes art is an expression of the soul, whether this is conscious or not, and we are all creative beings.
